Slate Heap
This is of of those really easy projects
again. I made a base, this time with an irregular shape out of stiff posterboard. From
posterboard offcuts from former projects I then cut small rectangles, not really looking
for the same height and width, but liking the irregular look. Cutting them with my lead
cutter also gave the edges that already worn look, so that I did not have to worry about
that. I put those "slates" all over the base, overlaying them a lot to make them
look like, well, a slate heap :)
One barrel was added, somewhere in between, to help liven things up. From GreenStuff I made some mushrooms, small balls, that I added in clumps around. Adding Kitty Litter and finally the normal PVA / Sand mixture I covered the base and some of the slates.
After that was dry I painted generously with black paint, before drybrushing the slates with ligher shades of grey and highlighting them with SkullWhite. The base was drybrushed with BestialBrown and OrcBrown, adding highlights with SkullWhite, too. The mushrooms I undercoated white, then painted them with blood red, before adding tiny spreckles to make them look poisionous.
